And in other news, posting will probably be (more) sporadic (than usual) during the next week or so - I've got my university graduation tomorrow night, then I'm off to visit my parents for a week. I'll try to update and keep up with my friends list while I'm away if I get the chance.

A few days ago I posted a wool pom pom tutorial. I made those pom poms as the basis for some geeky (you knew I was a huge geek, didn't you?) home made tree decorations. I present Trog, the vicious gnouga:

And Gronald, the sabre-toothed lime:

They're both characters from Kingdom of Loathing, an awesome, free, text-based browser game.

Credit for the teeth/eyes/hats goes to my amazing boyfriend.

Making things with Lenny: Wool pom poms

posing
It's December, therefore it's craft time. Today I'm going to share a step-by-step picture tutorial detailing how to make wool pom poms.

Tutorial here; be warned, it's picture-heavy. )

Cooking with Lenny: Honey wholemeal bread

posing

So this dough was an experiment. I made it to accompany this roasted tomato and green bean salad (verdict: Amazing and satisfying for a summer dinner), and it turned out delicious. There isn't enough honey in this to make the bread notably sweet, it's a more mellow flavour with the suggestion of honey. I based the recipe on my standard dough recipe. You'll need to keep in mind that this bread, being wholemeal, will be a lot more filling than regular while bread. If you want a lighter wholemeal, use part wholemeal flour and part white.

My home internet connection isn't working and I only have mobile access.

I'll be back and posting again when it's fixed.

Hope you're all having better luck than me!

Ed Stockham appreciation post.

Ed Stockham is an artist/filmmaker/animator from Wales. I've only recently started watching his YouTube videos, but I love everything about his work - the childlike innocence and imagination, the visual style, the effort he puts in to every video.

Below are some of my favourites, and if you enjoy them I really do suggest you look into more of his work.

My camera is broken.

My poor, loyal Kodak that I was given for Christmas the year I finished high school. I have taken I don't even know how many photos with that thing.

Sure, it's only a point and shoot, but it was my first digital camera, so it was sentimental.

I also can't afford to replace it, so it's going to be camera phone photos from me for now on, folks.

P.S. I made a new layout for my Tumblr tonight. Please go and look at it so you know my design skillzorz aren't as terrible as I may make them out to be.

So...

I made a sarcastic poster today. I believe it accurately conveys my feelings after spending yesterday afternoon looking at Photoshop tutorials.

Although I do un-sarcastically like that font a lot. And that 'milkshake' is actually a delicious iced coffee I sincerely enjoyed yesterday morning.
